About

The Brooklyn Digital Foundry, founded as a division of Brooklyn United by Brian Lemond and John Szot, specializes in the production of engaging architectural video and visualization pieces. Having worked for such names as Bjarke Ingels Group, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Snøhetta, and many more, this group can be recognized as a vital part of the current climate of architectural video representation. Though many of their videos stick to the institutionalized documentary style of video, in which the viewer is lead through the project as the camera rolls along a winding path, they have two qualities that set them apart, and give many of their videos a deeper more sophisticated edge. Firstly, with the use of more diagrammatic style animations, this group takes the viewer through the developmental stages of a project in a fun and almost game like way, one in which walls, columns, and roofs seem to have a character all their own. Secondly, even when sticking to the traditional walkthrough style videos, their bright and flashy renderings, whether populated with scale figures or not, effortlessly convey the mood of the architecture, where the architecture and people both play a role in creating an atmosphere and quality of space. The wide array of projects and partners with whom they have worked, have allowed Brooklyn Digital Foundry to develop a portfolio of work that shows off their many skills, traditional and otherwise.
