About

Ivan Marković is a cinematographer and director born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. He graduated in cinematography from the Faculty of Drama Arts in Belgrade in 2012 and received a master’s degree in film from the University of Arts Berlin in 2019. For his film and photography work, he won “Erste Foundation” Award for best visual artist in 2014. He took part in “Sarajevo city of film” in 2012, and “Berlinale talents” in 2015. Recently, he worked as a cinematographer on several feature films including “All the cities of the north” by Dane Komljen, “You have the night” by Ivan Salatić and “Ich war zuhause, aber” by Angela Schanelec, which won the Silver Bear at Berlinale 2019. The short film “White Bird”, which he shot and co-directed with Linfeng Wu, had its premiere on Berlinale Shorts 2016. In 2018, his experimental documentary film “Centar” had its premiere on Doclisboa Film festival. “From tomorrow on, I will”, a feature film he shot and co-directed with Linfeng Wu, had its premiere on Berlinale Forum 2019 and received the Grand prize at 2019 Jeonju International Film festival. He lives and works between Belgrade and Berlin.
