About

Sabbia Entertainment is an Italian production company formed by architect Francesca Benedetto, architect and videomaker Davide Rapp and Federico Bernocchi, television and radio host and writer. Their multidisciplinary and varied cultural background led them to focus on the representation and investigation of the urban landscape from an original perspective that is especially aimed at the inner potentialities of the visual communication process.

In their short film "The Dog from the City", the authors play with the idea of the observation of the world from an outer and alien point of view; they reinterpret the main theme narrated in the short sci-fi story by G. Peyton Wertenbaker, "The Man from the Atom" (published in 1923) and choose a dog's perspective as a means to explore and narrate the urban space of the city of Milan in its entirety from a distance, which in this case is both physical and metaphorical. In the short documentary "Milano - a Living Archive", the production company experiments with the perception of the different images of the city of Milan over the years. Historical pictures are overlapped in real time to the contemporary urban scenario as a means to investigate the various transformations of the metropolis and especially their effects on the everyday life of its inhabitants.

Francesca Benedetto (1981) is an architect. In 2008 she founded YellowOffice, an architectural studio based in Milan that combines research and design at different scales and in an international context. The studio is focused on landscape urbanism and is also specialized in the production of videos, illustrations and exhibitions that explore contemporary cities and their scenarios. Benedetto studied architecture at the Politecnico in Milan and at the Universitade Tecnica de Lisboa. Afterwards she has taught at the Politecnico di Milano, at the University of Pisa, at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, at Domus Academy in Milan and at Cass Cities in London. In 2014 she started working as a coordinator for the Master in Land Design at IED in Cagliari.

Federico Bernocchi (1977) is a television and radio host and author. He studied cinema and worked as a movie critic for magazines such as "GQ", "Wired", "Vogue", "Rivista Studio". He's co-founder of "i400Calci - La Rivista di Cinema da Combattimento". He has written and hosted numerous shows about cinema and tv for various Italian radio and tv channels, such as "Cloud" for Coming Soon Tv, "Orto e Mezzo" for LaEffe Tv, "Pechino Express" for Rai 2, "Canicola" for Radio 2.

Ph.D in Interior Design at Politecnico in Milan, Davide Rapp (1980) is an architect and videomaker. He lectured at various Italian and international schools of Design and Architecture, including Domus Academy (Milan), NABA (Milan), Politecnico (Milan), Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule (Halle), Mansfield College (Oxford). As architect and video maker, he participated in the 14th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice, "Fundamentals" (2014) with "Elements", a movie montage of short architecture-related clips. The video installation was conceived specifically for the introduction room of the exhibition "Elements of Architecture", curated by Rem Koolhaas, OMA and the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
