About

Argot ou La Maison Mobile (AOUMM) was born by budding among all partners - Luca Astorri Riccardo Balzarotti, Rossella Locatelli Matteo Poli. The office deals with space project as a union of architecture and landscape: landscape as paysage culturel or creative form disclosing through living materials, cultural practices and natural or artificial processes, in a state of flux. The interest for the various forms and expressions of the space derives from the heterogeneity of the founders’ experiences and interests; AOUMM’s partners are individually involved in research, care of exhibitions and magazines, university teaching and collaborations with NGOs, as well as fashion, sports and mechanics. AOUMM architecture is never ideological or serial. The innovation lies not only in researched solutions but it is inherent in the participatory and inclusive design process adopted by the AOUMM. The office took at the 14th Architecture Biennale, curated by Rem Koolhaas, and at EXPO 2015 with the pavilion of Save the Children, which will be adapted as a school for Syrian refugees in Lebanon. The office is currently responsible for the architectural design of UBS Art and GAM Milan and for Vanessa Beecroft (EXPO and 56th Biennale of Venice). Other works include a private farm of 100 ha in Azerbaijan and the West-Kardashian garden in Los Angeles. AOUMM collaborated with filmmaker Fabio Petronilli for documenting the participatory workshops "H2T" and "Redesign Tradition", aimed at designing and building some pieces of urban furniture with the involvement of students and local citizens.
