About

Submarine is an award-winning production studio based in Amsterdam that develops and produces feature films, documentaries, animations and transmedia works with an in-depth focus on digital storytelling. The company, founded in 2000 by Bruno Felix and Femke Wolting, fuses technology and design with strong concepts and compelling narratives through an international and innovative attitude and a balanced combination of traditional and interactive narrations.

Submarine co-produces most of its films, animations, commercials, branded games, interactive shorts or online campaigns in collaboration with broadcasters, distributors and publishers from around Europe and the United States. The studio works with directors who explore the boundaries of the moving image, with renowned talent such as Peter Greenaway and Tommy Pallotta as well as with young and upcoming talents. Submarine Studio focuses on multiple fields, from music and fashion to design and architecture, also collaborating worldwide with numerous famous architects. The group curates a series of interviews and talks to introduce, among others, the vision of Rem Koolhaas, MVRDV and UNStudio. In the "UNStudio Profile", Ben Van Berkel narrates his vision and explains the fundamental concepts that are at the very basis of his design process after about 25 years of successful architectural activities.

Part of the multiple award-winning Submarine production outfit, Submarine Channel is a popular website conceived to host original transmedia dramas, documentaries and genre-defying entertainment as well as to create - from its studios in Amsterdam and Los Angeles - fresh content with new technologies and visually exciting, multiple format-friendly ways. Motion comics, online games, web documentaries and video portraits about pioneering creatives from all over the world, Submarine Channel streams authored content as well as the best in next-generation cinema by peer creators. SubLA, sister company of Amsterdam based Submarine and Submarine Channel, experiments with new forms of storytelling that encompass traditional and emerging media through advanced design and technology skills. Based in Venice (CA) and Amsterdam and led by Tommy Pallotta, Femke Wolting and Bruno Felix, SubLA produced the interactive online experience for Paramount's latest film "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol".
