About

When thinking about NO.MAD one could wonder if the name followed a plan or if it was the other way around. NO.MAD architecture studio was founded in Amsterdam in 1989 by architect Eduardo Arroyo. After setting up in Paris and Bilbao, in 1996 it stayed in Madrid. Arroyo employed the video on several occasions, especially after he found a partner in Simone Muscolino, whose creativity seemed to perfectly match up with Arroyo's architecture. The Italian video-maker and interaction designer produced, with Francesco Monaco, the "Paisajes en el bolsillo" video for the Plaza de Desierto project in Barakaldo. This video was on a DVD enclosed to a pop-up booklet which, once opened, reproduced the architecture presented in the video. The same couple got together again for "Yellow Fever [Lasesarre Football Stadium]" about the Lasesarre Football stadium in Barakaldo designed by Arroyo. NO.MAD collaborated once again with Muscolino for the video "Casta Luna", a fancy tale to outline the overwhelming deployment of a clone tourist center army through Catalunya which is the project proposed by the Spanish architect for the Hipercatalunya collective project.
